Dear MPES Families,
Staff Appreciation is May 4 - May 8 and is in full bloom at Manassas Park Elementary, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible community that surrounds our students each day. Our staff continues to create a nurturing environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow. Together, we are living out our shared belief in One Team. One Dream.
Last week, our students were the ultimate scientists during Wonderfest. It was exciting to see their curiosity come to life through research projects, experiments, and creative models. Students demonstrated not only strong academic skills but also collaboration, communication, and pride in their work. We are so proud of their efforts and grateful to our staff for guiding and supporting them throughout the process.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Cougar Literacy Run such a success this past Saturday. It was an incredible day that highlighted the strength of our Manassas Park community. From families and students to staff, local businesses, and first responders, the support for literacy and our school was truly inspiring. The 5K and Color Run were filled with energy and excitement, and the many activities throughout the event made it a memorable experience for all. Your participation and encouragement mean so much to our students.
We have been extremely proud of our Fine Arts department in MPCS. Our students have had opportunities to have their talents displayed. Incredible visual arts were displayed at the District Art Show and MPE Multicultural Night. We were represented well and it was very impressive to see the progression of student work from kindergarten through grade twelve. Our students were able to get a preview of the Suessical Musical. The students and staff loved seeing the characters of some of their favorite stories come alive. Our own fifth graders had the audience moving and shaking as they presented their Band and Choir Concert. Watching the students flourish in their instrumental skills and then transition to vocal and dance skills was spectacular. The band and choir selections included The Shark, Hot Cross Buns, We Will Rock You and well known 80"s and 90"s songs such as Footloose, A Thousand Miles and Bye, Bye, Bye.
MPES also recently participated in Special Olympics. Our staff, student athletes and families enjoyed a beautiful day of activities. Our students had a great send off with posters and silent cheers.
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, we thank you for your continued partnership. Your support at home and involvement in school events make a lasting difference. Together, we will continue to help every child grow, achieve, and thrive. Please take a moment to look at the upcoming dates, celebrations and opportunities to partner with us.
Warmly,
Your MPES Administrative Team
